Beautiful Eco-Lodge in SE London. Surrounded by oak trees and wildlife, set far back from a private unmade road. The lodge is totally detached, in the grounds of our Walter ssegal designed property, and backs on to the extensive grounds of the Bromley Court hotel; ancient oak trees and an abundance of wildlife can be appreciated via the huge skylights throughout the property.
Close to central Bromley,good train links from nearby Ravensbourne station to the City.
The space
The lodge is a beautiful detached property; set very far back from the private unmade road of Elstree Hill, it backs on to the extensive grounds of the Bromley Court Hotel. As a result, it has a very secluded, private feel. You cannot hear any road noise at all from the lodge, the atmosphere is very special.
We are 10 minutes walk from the 237 acre ancient woodland of Beckenham Place park. This has recently received lottery funding and from spring/summer 2019 will have a boating lake, new playgrounds and cafes, and a wetlands area. Wildlife from the park overspills to the surrounding area and adds to the rural feel of our property.
There are huge skylights throughout the property, which give views up to the oak trees above.
The bedroom has a blackout blind, but many guests choose to wake up to the view of the maginificant trees overhead. We have a resident barn owl in these trees, as well as Squirrels, Jays and other wildlife.
Ravensbourne station is a pleasant 10 minute walk away, and trains go regularly to central london.
The lodge has a modern kicthen and new bathroom, wifi and all mod cons.
We have the lodge professionally cleaned between bookings, and I also check it thoroughly myself to make sure everything is immaculate for guests on arrival.
The lodge is best suited to two people, but there are two sofa beds in.the living room, so if there are more of you – give it a go!
The lodge sits in the grounds of our house. Children are more than welcome to play in the garden with ours.
Elstree Hill is a private unmade road, there is plenty of parking on the street.
Guest access
Guests have the whole lodge to themselves.
To access the lodge you walk through the gardens a walter segal designed property.
We are a friendly young family and are ready to help with anything you might need. But we also appreciate that many guests want to be left to themselves – so, apart from occasionally checking in with you via airbnb messaging, we leave it up to you to conatct us throughout your stay if you need any help or advice. We are close by, you can see our property in the picture of the lodge balcony.
The lodge has it’s own address, and entranceway, so you can order deliveries, take aways etc.
Other things to note
There is an extra charge of £15 per night for every guest over 2, and £5 for every dog or cat. This is to cover extra wear and tear.
